Our friends at the Roddenberry Foundation earned a coveted spot on Fast Company’s  World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2018 this week. Their mission to surpass philanthropy as usual led them to fund a range of out-of-the-box ideas for a “boldly better future.”

Launched at the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, the prize attracted 1.1 million site visitors and more than 600 entrants, ultimately growing the foundation’s network by more than 700%. The five winning solutions and four finalists “capture the spirit of the Roddenberry Prize, harnessing diversity, innovation and impact in addressing climate change, health, communication, poverty, disaster response and more,” states the Roddenberry Prize impact report.
