100 Resilient Cities Centennial Challenge Strategy & Design

July 25, 2014

100 Resilient Cities was pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation to help cities build resilience to the physical, economic and social challenges of today. Last year, Context Partners designed and ran a global challenge to identify the inaugural 32 cities that formed the Resilient Cities Network. To complement the 2014 challenge, we produced a video to make this call to action all the more accessible, easy to share.

It’s no small task encouraging cities to work collectively to apply to a prize challenge on a global stage. Putting the call to action in simple terms and pairing the call with documentary footage and energizing animation helps city officials and global leaders better understand the power of the opportunity. The campaign targets potential applicants committed to the 100 Resilient Cities vision—one in which all cities learn from one another in the face of acute shocks and chronic stresses, becoming more resilient.
